Portugal’s legendary footballer and six-time Ballon d’Or award winner Cristiano Ronaldo has said that every match of the FIFA World Cup 2022 is a struggle and he will have to give his best in the first six matches to reach the final. Under the leadership of Ronaldo, Portugal has to play its first match against Ghana on 24 November.

Ronaldo said, ‘If we want to reach the final, we have to do our best in the first six matches. First of all, we will try to reach the knockouts. We are ready to fight in Qatar. ‘ It is noteworthy that video game company Electronic Arts (EA) recently predicted in the FIFA 2023 game that the final of the World Cup 2022 to be held in Qatar will be held in Portugal and Argentina, while Argentina will win the title match.

Ronaldo, playing his fifth World Cup, said that every match will be of equal importance for him. “Every match is a struggle and you have to be strong mentally and physically to survive (in the tournament),” Ronaldo said. Portugal have been drawn in Group H alongside Uruguay, Ghana and South Korea for the top-flight tournament, which begins on 20 November. Uruguay was eliminated from the FIFA World Cup 2018 after defeating Portugal in the pre-quarterfinal round.

Ronaldo, who made his debut in 2003, won his first international trophy after 13 years in the form of the European Championship in France. Apart from this, Ronaldo has also won the UEFA Nations League 2018-19 for Portugal. Portugal, however, have never lifted the World Cup trophy, although their best performance was a third-place finish in 1966.
