Daryl Mitchell’s Injury Update: There is good news for New Zealand. Team all-rounder Daryl Mitchell is recovering fast from his injury. He is expected to be fully fit just before the T20 World Cup 2022. He can be a part of the playing-11 of New Zealand’s first match in the T20 World Cup. New Zealand’s team will start its World Cup campaign on 22 October with a match against Australia.

Daryl Mitchell suffered a fractured finger on his right hand last week. After this he was dropped from the tri-series being played against Pakistan and Bangladesh. Now in the latest scan it has been found that his injury is recovering fast.

New Zealand coach Gary Stead said in a statement, ‘We are hopeful that he will be available for the first match. For the second match, he will definitely join the team. New Zealand will play its second match in this World Cup against Afghanistan on 26 October.

In last year’s T20 World Cup, Daryl Mitchell had led his team to the final. He played a memorable innings against England in the semi-final match. He scored 72 runs in 47 balls to help New Zealand win by 5 wickets against England. However, New Zealand had to face defeat against Australia in the final match.
