FIFA World Cup 2022: The second day of the FIFA World Cup was played on Monday (21 November) evening between Wales and USA at the Ahmed Bin Ali Stadium in Al Rayyan. In this match, Gareth Bale scored in the 83rd minute to help Wales draw against the USA. The Wales team had landed in the World Cup for the first time after 64 years. Wales were put behind in the 36th minute when Timothy Weah scored. Before this match, England had thrashed Iran 6-2. Because of this his team is at the top of the points table.
USA scored the first goal
In this match the USA team dominated Wales in the early stages. The USA team could score a goal in this match only in the 9th minute. But Wayne Hennessey of Wales prevented this from happening. The breakthrough came for the USA in the 36th minute when Christian Pulisic found the gap between Hennessy and the goalpost to score a superb goal.
Wales were completely behind in the first half of the match and team manager Rob Page brought on Keefer Moore at the break to replace Dan James. With eight minutes remaining in the final match, Wales found the equaliser. Bell tripped himself in front of Walker Zimmermann in the box and won the penalty, before extending himself to pounce the ball past Matt Turner.
Wales play Iran at the same ground next Friday (25 November), while the USA take on England on the same day at the Al Bayt Stadium in Al Khor. The final stage match of Group B will be played on Tuesday, 29 November. On this day the match will be played between the team of England and Wales and USA and Iran.
