ICC Rankings: The ICC has released the final rankings before the T20 World Cup. The battle for the first position in the batsmen’s ranking has become very exciting. In the new rankings, however, there has been no change in the top three places with Mohammad Rizwan first while Suryakumar Yadav and Babar Azam retained the second and third positions respectively. But the distance between Pakistani batsman Rizwan, Indian batsman Suryakumar Yadav and Pakistani captain Babar Azam has become very short. At the same time, New Zealand opener Devon Conway has taken entry in the top 5.
Conway in Top 5
Conway, who is at the top of the list for most runs in the ongoing T20 tri-series, has moved past David Malan and Aaron Finch to take the fifth spot. He has now scored an unbeaten innings of 70 against Bangladesh and 49 against Pakistan, after which he has 760 rating points. Conway has now moved closer to fourth-ranked South Africa all-rounder Aiden Markram (777).
Rizwan-Surya distance reduced
Rizwan started the tri-series with an innings of 78 runs but after that he could not do much, after which the distance between him and Suriya has come down to just 15 rating points. At the same time, there is a distance of 30 points between Babar and Surya.
Bhuvi tops Indian bowlers
Talking about the bowlers, England’s Mark Wood and Rhys Topley have taken a long jump. Wood has moved up 14 places to 18th and Topley to 11th. Among Indian bowlers, Bhuvneshwar Kumar is present at number 13 while Ashwin has slipped to 22nd position with a loss of one place. Josh Hazlewood, Rashid Khan and Vanindu Hasaranga are still holding the initial three spots in the top 5.
Hardik is the only Indian in the top 5 among all-rounders
In the ranking of all-rounders, Mohammad Nabi, Shakib Al Hasan, Moeen Ali, Hasranga and Hardik are in the top 5 respectively.
