The 2022-23 Hero Indian Super League (ISL) will begin with a match between last season’s runners-up Kerala Blasters and East Bengal FC at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Kochi on 7 October. The 2022-23 season will be special, as the teams will welcome their 12th man to the stadium after a gap of two seasons. For the last two years, the ISL was organized without spectators due to the Corona epidemic.

Regarding ISL, Founder and President of Football Sports Development Limited (FSDL), Nita Ambani said that the upcoming season of Hero Indian Super League will be an important step for the league and Indian football.

This season Hero is bringing many new things for the ISL fans. In which he will give many types of facilities to the fans. In this year’s ISL, more matches will be conducted on weekends. So that more and more fans can be connected to football.

A total of 117 matches will be played in the ISL season from this year. This will be the first time in ISL history that a season will last for five months. A total of 11 teams are participating in this season. All the teams have to play 20 matches (10 matches at home and 10 matches away).

Important Dates of Indian Super League

  • October 7, 2022: First match
  • February 23 and February 26, 2022: Final match of the league stage
  • March 2023: Playoffs, semi-finals and finals
