Jogi Teaser: The teaser of Jogi starring Diljit Dosanjh in the lead role was released on Saturday. In this film, Diljit is seen in the role of a young Sikh man. The story of the film is of a Sikh who gets trapped in the 1984 Sikh riots in Delhi. Amidst difficult times and deadly riots, the story of that young man’s courage and valor is going to be shown to the audience in director Ali Abbas Zafar’s Jogi.
Sikh youth story is ‘Jogi’
The first glimpse of the film was released on social media yesterday and featured Diljit as Jogi, a man who stands by his family and friends no matter what. On Saturday, the teaser was released and it gave a glimpse of Jogi’s happy world with his family in Delhi just before the tragic 1984 riots. Whatever happens, protect them. Sharing the teaser, Netflix wrote, “Watch Jogi Ka Hausla, Jogi Ki Himmat, and Jogi Ki Dosti. Jogi will stream only on Netflix on 16th September.”

Why is 1984 special for Diljit?
The film is all set to stream on Netflix in September. Recently, in a conversation with Hindustan Times, Diljit talked about the film Jogi and said that this subject is very close to his heart. He said, “The year of my birth is 1984. I grew up listening to real life experiences and stories about riots and era. In fact, I even made a Punjabi film, Punjab 1984, some time back, which Had also won a National Film Award. So, the subject matter is really important to me, and Ali sir has chosen the right story.”
It is being told that the film was shot during the COVID 19 pandemic and Diljit revealed in the same chat that its premiere on OTT is a right move as it will reach more people. The film also stars Kumud Mishra, Amyra Dastur, Mohammad Zeeshan Ayyub and Hiten Tejwani. Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, the film will release on Netflix on 16 September.
