Film Critic and actor Kamal R Khan (KRK) was granted bail by a Mumbai court on Wednesday in the controversial tweet case. He made controversial tweets about Akshay Kumar and filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma. Earlier, on Tuesday, another court in Mumbai had granted him bail in the 2021 molestation case. KRK is in judicial custody these days. He was arrested by the Mumbai Police last week from the Mumbai airport.
Kamal R Khan is likely to be released from jail any time today i.e. on Thursday. Police have claimed that KRK’s post was communal and he targeted Bollywood celebrities. However, KRK’s counsel Ashok Sarogi and Jai Yadav submitted in the bail plea that the tweet in question had only commented on the film titled “Laxmmi Bomb” (which released simply as ‘Lakshmi’) and was not an offense alleged by the police. .
It has also been said in the bail petition that KRK is working in the film industry as a critic or reporter. KRK was booked in the year 2020 under several sections of the IPC, including 153 (abetment with intent to incite riot) and 500 (punishment for defamation), and provisions of the Information Technology Act.
Hearing of molestation case was held in Bandra court
Let us tell you, in the case of molestation, the Versova police took KRK into custody on Sunday and he was produced in the Bandra Court. KRK’s lawyers Ashok Sarogi and Jai Yadav, in their bail plea filed before the Bandra Magistrate Court, claimed that the contents of the FIR practically did not match with the alleged molestation incident.
The woman had accused of touching in a manner
In June 2021, based on the complaint of a 27-year-old woman, a case of molestation was registered under sections 354 (A) and 509 of the IPC.
