French Open champions Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty also climbed a place to return to their career-best ranking of seventh in men’s doubles.

The Indian pair won two BWF World titles – India Open Super 500 and French Open Super 750. He won a gold medal at the Birmingham Commonwealth Games and a bronze medal at the World Championships for the first time. He also played an important role in India’s Thomas Cup victory.
