India’s Olympic champion and World Championship silver medalist Neeraj Chopra is gearing up to make a comeback once again after recovering from injury. Chopra, 24, withdrew from the Birmingham Commonwealth Games due to a minor groin strain during her historic silver medal win at the World Championships in Eugene, USA, last month. He was advised rest for a month.

Olympic champion javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra has been named in the list of participants of the Lausanne Diamond League competition to be held on August 26. Chopra had recently pulled out of the Commonwealth Games due to a minor injury. He is yet to decide about participating in this prestigious competition.

A source said, “Neeraj is working on his rehabilitation and his team will take a decision on it when the Lausanne Diamond League comes to a close.”

After winning the historic gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics last year, Neeraj Chopra made a comeback this year with a bang. He broke the national record in the javelin throw twice before winning silver at the World Athletics Championships in Eugene, Oregon.
