In fact, on Tuesday, BCCI Secretary Jay Shah said that the Indian team will not go to Pakistan to play the Asia Cup in the year 2023, in response to which Pakistan has taken a tough stand. If the Indian team does not go to Pakistan for the Asia Cup 2023, then the Pakistan team will not come to India to play the ODI World Cup 2023.
PCB’s tough stand after Jay Shah’s statement
It is worth noting that on Tuesday, BCCI Secretary Jay Shah had given a statement that the Indian team would not go to Pakistan to play the proposed Asia Cup 2023. In response to which Pakistan has now taken a tough stand, Pakistan has threatened to withdraw from the upcoming ODI World Cup 2023, which is to be played in India next year. According to the decision of the Executive Board of the Asian Cricket Council, Pakistan will host the next edition of the Asia Cup next year. At present, BCCI Secretary Jay Shah is the President of the Asian Cricket Council. Jay Shah had said in his statement that India will not go to Pakistan to play the Asia Cup 2023 next year, due to which the Asia Cup 2023 should be held at a neutral venue.
‘PCB is preparing to take tough decisions’
Now according to sources close to PCB chairman Rameez Raja, Pakistan is considering withdrawing from the proposed ODI World Cup in India next year. It is being claimed in media reports that after the stand of BCCI, now the PCB is preparing to take tough decisions. It is worth noting that the Indian cricket team last went to Pakistan in the year 2008 to play the Asia Cup. At the same time, the last bilateral series between the two countries was played in the year 2012. In the year 2012, the Pakistan team came on the tour of India.
