Indian shooter Ramita wins gold by defeating Chinese player in ISSF World Championship
Ramita wins world champion title in women’s 10m air rifle junior event
New Delhi. Indian shooter Ramita won the gold medal in the women’s 10m air rifle junior event after beating China’s Ying Shen 16-12 in a close contest at the ISSF World Championships here on Wednesday. The highlight of the seventh day of the competition was Ramita’s gold for India and the first three places in the women’s 50m pistol junior event.
India has now won 25 medals in this competition, which includes 10 gold, five silver and 10 bronze medals. India is second in the medal table after China.
Ramita was once tied 12-12 against Ying in the final but after that she won the title with scores of 10.8 and 10.7. In qualification, Ramita was fourth with 629.6 points but in the ranking round she scored 262.8 points and finished on top to make it to the gold medal match. India’s Tilottama Sen won the bronze medal in this event. He scored 261 points in the ranking round. Earlier, she had topped the qualification with 633.4 marks. In the same event, Yukti Rajendra finished ninth with a score of 627.1.

Indian girls domination even in 50m pistol
Indian girls dominated the women’s 50m pistol junior event. Divanshi won the gold medal by scoring 547 points. Varsha Singh stood second with 539 points while Tiana stood third with 523 points. India’s Khushi Kapoor stood fourth in this competition. He scored 521 points.
Rhythm Sangwan won silver medals in women’s 25m standard pistol while Abhinav Choudhary won silver in men’s 50m pistol junior event. Vijay Veer Sidhu won the bronze medal in the men’s 25m standard pistol.
