Venue of BWF World Tour Finals changed due to Corona
Now instead of China, this tournament will be held in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand.

New Delhi. The upcoming BWF World Tour Finals will be held in Bangkok instead of Gwangju from December 7 due to Corona infection. The tournament was to be held from December 14. But due to the issue of availability of the stadium, it will now start a week earlier. The Badminton World Federation announced this on Tuesday.

The federation said in a statement, ‘The BWF has decided to hold the HSBC BWF World Tour Finals 2022 in second place after consultation with the Chinese Badminton Association due to the situation arising out of the Corona epidemic. We thank the Thailand Badminton Association, which has arranged to host the tournament in such a short time.

Only HS Prannoy will participate from India’s side. Two-time Olympic medalist PV Sindhu also qualified but withdrew as she could not fully recover from a fracture in her left ankle.
