Surendra Singh Memorial Shooting Tournament: Mixed pair of Manu Bhaker and Shiv Narwal hit gold

Bhopal. Haryana pair of Manu Bhaker and Shiv Narwal won the 10m air pistol mixed team title in the 20th Kumar Surendra Singh Memorial Shooting Competition on Sunday. The pair of Manu and Narwal defeated ONGC pair of Amanpreet Singh and Shweta Singh 16-8 in the gold medal match. Telangana’s Isha Singh, who won the individual title in the women’s 10m air pistol on Saturday, won two bronze medals on Sunday. He teamed up with Kaushik Gopu to win bronze medals in both the senior and junior mixed team events.

On the other hand, Meena Kumari won the women’s 50m rifle prone event, retaining the dominance of Haryana at Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range in New Delhi. Meena with 620.2 points beat Chandigarh’s Mahit Sandhu who scored 619.9 points. Mahit won the junior category title. Manu Bhaker won the gold medal in the 25m team event of the ISSF Junior World Cup last month.

The trio of Manu, Isha Singh and Rhythm Sangwan then defeated hosts Germany 16-2 in the final. In this tournament, India’s women pistol shooters had put 5 gold medals in their bag. On the golden success of the women trio, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar was lauded on social media.
