T20 World Cup 2022 Deepak Chahar: Before the T20 World Cup, the Indian team has suffered another setback. Deepak Chahar, one of the standby players of the World Cup squad, has been injured. Jasprit Bumrah has already been ruled out of the T20 World Cup to be held in Australia due to injury. Chahar’s inclusion in India’s main squad was being discussed in his place, but due to the injury he suffered, now this plan may also be in jeopardy.
Deepak Chahar ruled out due to injury
Deepak Chahar is unlikely to play in the remaining two matches against South Africa in Lucknow after he suffered an injury during a training session ahead of the first match of the ongoing ODI series against South Africa. Let us tell you that Chahar was not part of the playing XI of the Indian team which suffered a 9-run defeat against South Africa in the opening match due to ankle twist. A source with knowledge of the selection matters told PTI on condition of anonymity, “Deepak’s ankle is twisted but it is not that serious. However, rest for a few days may be advised. It will be the decision of the team management whether they want to take the risk of playing Deepak or not as he is included in the stand-by list for the T20 World Cup.
Shami may visit Australia in next three to four days
As of now, Mohammed Shami will replace Jasprit Bumrah in the T20 World Cup squad, who is slowly getting match fit and is expected to leave for Australia in the next three to four days. According to a BCCI source, if Mohammed Shami is fit, he will be the first priority. He will join the team next week.
Mukesh Chaudhary and Chetan Sakaria reached Australia
Mukesh Chaudhary and Chetan Sakaria have joined the T20 team as net bowlers. Left-arm pacer Mukesh Chaudhary, who was searching for Chennai Super Kings last year, and Chetan Sakariya of Saurashtra have joined the T20 World Cup squad as net bowlers. Both these bowlers left with the team on Thursday. He will be with the team in Perth where India will play two warm-up matches. According to India’s training program in Perth, they have to train hard for five hours for three days i.e. on 8, 9 and 12 October. Team India will play two practice matches on October 10 and 13 before the start of the T20 World Cup.
